Vision
Hope Academy of Bishkek provides an international education from an ethical worldview primarily for expatriate volunteer families in Kyrgyzstan. Hope Academy provides an education that encourages the spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth of our students. Our goal is to see our students become critical thinkers and lifelong learners and grow in character. We seek to instill in our students an ethical view of God, the world, and themselves that will equip them for service to society.
History
Hope Academy of Bishkek, also known as HAB, was started as a parent cooperative in 1998 to meet the educational needs of NGO volunteers in Kyrgyzstan. It began with 7 families from two nations with10 students studying under one teacher. It has now grown to over 120 students from 12 different nations, studying from Kindergarten to 12th grade.
The current building was purchased in the spring of 2002 and the renovations continue as we continue to grow as a school. We now have 12 classrooms, a library, science lab, computer lab, office, assembly hall, and a staff room. There is also a large playground and a basketball court.
Organization
Hope Academy is run by a Board of Directors made up of parent owners and NGO (non-government organization) volunteers. The Board sets policy for the Director to implement in the administration of the school.
