HAB is an expanding school following an International curriculum with IGCSE for grades 9 and 10 and AP courses in grades 11 and 12. 

 Job Description for HAB Teachers:

Under the direction of the principal, teachers are expected to fulfill the duties of their job.

  • Teach the approved curriculum from a Ethical world view
  • Plan broadly using quarterly goals and objectives.
  • Be informed as to the academic, spiritual and social development of each student
  • Use a variety of instructional methods that will meet the students different learning styles
  • Maintain a learning environment in the classroom that is conducive to the acquisition of knowledge for all students
  • Maintain attractive displays in the classroom eg. children's work
  • Give written reports at designated intervals
  • Consult with parents during conference times and when needed
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of their teaching methods and materials
  • Participate in extracurricular school activities as assigned or needed

 

In addition to above, teachers should:

  • Be willing to occasionally teach mixed grade levels or year groups
  • Be willing to work with curriculum materials from more than one country of origin
  • Be open to different educational approaches suited to the needs of their students
  • Be willing to work with an international team of teachers
  • Be willing to include students whose first language is not English in their classroom
